"Under the Influence" shows how our generation of young adults fell in love with the Influences we use (alcohol, weed, etc) in order to live the party-filled lifestyle we love, through a love story about a young man who falls in love with a girl he meets at a party.
It begins with the young man -the young man representing our generation of young adults- falling in love with the characteristics of a girl he meets at the party -the girl's characteristics representing the influences used to live the lifestyle of partying itself.
This love story shows how our generation of young adults is in love with using influences -in order to lead the partying lifestyle- through the young man describing and comparing the characteristics of the girl he falls in love with too some of the influences themselves. For example: He refers to her as a dime (an amount of cannabis), being dope, being smoking hot, or even compares her body's figure to that of the bottle he is drinking from.
Therefore in conclusion, the young man -who represents our generation of young adults- falling in love with the characteristics of the girl -who represents the influences used to lead the partying lifestyle- is actually a deeper form of symbolism that portrays how our generation of young adults fell in love with the influences used in order to lead the party-filled lifestyle that we love.
